Dementia-Anime with Characters that might be falling into Insanity or is already crazy

Historical-Takes place around a historical time , place , and/or event in history

Music-Anime that is focused on a rock/pop group

Sci-fi-Anime that might take place in the future, or have some kind invasion happening

Sports-Anime that focuses on a type of sport , like baseball , tennis ect..

Demons-Anime with demons in it

Horror-Anime that is scary

Mystery-Where there is a case to be solved

Seinen-this is anime mostly for college age males

Superpower-Where the characters have powers

Drama-A serious anime with a dark or serious plot

Josei-aimed at women , this is a very rare anime genre  and not much is published in the west

Parody-anime that makes fun of something

Shoujo-or the short term Shojo. Which is similar in writing to Shojou which means a note or letter , or Shoujou which means symptom of a disease. This is anime aimed at girls

Supernatural-Anime that has creatures that go bump in the night or have weird things going on

Ecchi-this is perverted anime

Kids-anime made just for little kids

Police-Anime about a certain police force

Shoujo Ai-This focuses on the Relationship between two females and usually doesn't have any explicit content, unlike in Yuri



Thriller-Anime that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Anime Genres pt 1 2/12/2012

There are tons and tons of different Genres to describe what an anime is about . Today and Tomorrow i'll go over all these Genres. So please bare with me and i swear after we get through the Genres i'll start to do anime reviews ^.^ But its always important to start  with the basics.

                                                         Anime Genres


Action: Anime that has a lot of fighting /violence involved

Fantasy: Anime that might take place in a magical place, or have magical characters or creatures . 


Magic: Has Characters that can use magic . 



Psychological: Anime that might make you think , or have a character with a psychological disorder



Shounen: This is anime for boys, where there is a lot of fighting and adrenalin involved 

Vampire: Anime with vampires involved 

Adventure: Where the Character's go on a quest to find something , or take down a evil king 

Game:  Anime where the Characters are playing a virtual reality game of some sort, or they compete in real life game tournaments



Martial Arts: Anime where the main characters can do some sort of Martial art

Romance: Anime about love 

Shounen Ai: Which when translated means Boy love , This is the lighter side of boys love..mostly revolving around the love and romance of boys love...not what goes on in the bedroom lol

Yaoi: Is the more hardcore , porngraphic side of a boys love story.

Cars: Anime that is focused on Racing cars 

Harem: Usually has one male/female surrounded by a group of the oppistie sex  

Mecha: Anime with large robots roaming around

Samurai: Anime with Samurai in it 

Slice of life: Anime that relates to real life issues

Yuri: This is GirlXGirl anime , the Oppiste of yaoi

Comedy: Anime that is funny

Hentai: Anime porn


Military: Anime that revolves around a military base 

School: Anime that is mostly set in a school

Space: Anime thats set in space

Lets start with the Basics of Anime 2/11/2012

Sorry i hav'nt posted in a while . Ok now before i start to do anime reviews. I need to teach you a little bit about anime first..for all the people who are not familiar with Japanese animation.

What is anime: Anime is the slang term for Japanese animation .

Have you seen anime and not known it : most likely yes! If you watched 4Kids tv when you were young , then you defiantly have watched anime before. Shows like Pokemon, Digimon , Yugioh, Dinosaur King , Mew Mew Power-Aka Tokyo mew mew-are all children's anime shows.

Is anime just for kids: NO!!! not at all . Everyone from young kids to full grown adults can enjoy anime!

What is the rating system for anime:

G-good for everyone
PG-suggestive themes, some profanity , mild violence
PG-13-For 13 and up, slightly stronger profanity, more blood and violence, suggestive themes
R, Strong blood , violence , nudity , and profanity
RX , FOR ADULTS ONLY, this mostly hentai aka cartoon porn
